Main Purpose of the Job:

We’re looking for a results-driven Techno-Economic Analyst to support strategic decision-making by developing and analysing mineral resource economic models. You will play a key role in evaluating current operations, new developments, and business opportunities—including acquisitions, divestments, and reinvestments—within tight commercial timelines.

Key Responsibilities:
• Investment Management - Responsible for developing and analysing advanced mineral investment models, both deterministic and probabilistic
• To assess the commercial viability of opportunities. This includes validating technical and business data, identifying risks and value drivers, engaging key stakeholders, and presenting actionable insights.
• The role also involves tracking investment performance, defining success metrics, and supporting strategic investment decisions through clear, data-driven reporting.
• Risk Management - Assist in establishing and tracking the risk items of potential investments and assets within the portfolio.
• Governance and Compliance - Ensure techno-economics models and reports used and assessments are accurate and compliant to investment criteria and policy requirements.


Key Focus Areas:
• Strategic Alignment with MDCB’s investment goals.
• Engage the relevant stakeholders and key decision-making bodies within required timelines.
• Assist in the development and review Critical Success Factors and Key Performance Indicators for mineral investment opportunities.
• Assist in establishing and tracking the risk items of potential investments and assets within the portfolio.
• Ensure techno-economics models and reports used and assessments are accurate and compliant to investment criteria and policy requirements
• Review, validate and in-depth analysis, interpretation of the commercial and business aspects of investments opportunities presented to determine realistic value, identify risks and opportunities, provide relevant conclusions, recommendation for consideration and next steps;

Qualifications & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Econometrics, Economics/Finance & Investments, Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in mineral resource economic analysis, of which at least 3 is related to the mining and/or investment industry.
• The job requires multi-disciplinary skills, with operational and/or project experience, complemented by analytical and economic skills.
• Experience working within the mining and/or the investment industry is essential.
• Registration with a professional body
