Main Purpose of the Job:
Reporting to the Chief Technical Officer, the Mineral Resource Management Specialist will provide technical leadership in mineral resource evaluation, estimation reporting and governance to support MDCB's investment portfolio and strategic growth objectives as well as playing a critical role in the strategic management and technical assurance of MDCB's mineral resource portfolio The primary focus will be on evaluating and optimising mineral resource estimation modelling and reporting practices across target and investee companies and ensure that mineral resource management systems processes and governance frameworks support informed investment decisions, long-term value creation, and alignment with business strategy
Key Responsibilities:
- Integrate geological, mining processing, and market considerations into business planning, while ensuring compliance with industry standards and ESG requirements
- Review mineral resources and reserve estimates
- Evaluate technical reports supporting investment decisions
- Develop and implement mineral resource management frameworks
- Monitor compliance with industry reporting standards
- Support technical due diligence on investment opportunities
- Integrate mineral resource information into investment planning
- Identify technical and operational risks
- Promote continuous improvement and ESG integration
- Monitor mineral resource performance, reconciliation, and reporting to support decision-making
- Maintain effective relationships with technical and commercial stakeholders across the mining value chain
- Identify and assess risks associated with mineral resources and reserves providing mitigation strategies
- ESG Integration: Embed ESG principles into mineral resource management practices to ensure sustainability is incorporated in work processes
- Keep abreast of advancements in mining technologies and processes providing recommendations to improve operational efficiency reduce risks and enhance profitability
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Geology or related field
- A minimum of 10 years experience in Mineral Resource Management
- Experience in mineral resource estimation, modelling and resource-to-reserve conversion
- Financial/Investment qualifications/experience will be an added benefit
