About the role:
The Senior Manager -Business Intelligence, will provide strategic leadership in the development and management of business intelligence systems, data analytics and reporting for the Government Diamond Valuation (GDV) furiction.
The role will be responsible for transforming complex valuation, market and operational data into accurate, timely and actionable business intelligence to support sound valuation decisions, revenue forecasting, audit assurance and commercial decision-making The successful candidate will also play a key role in strengthening data-driven decision making and identifying emerging business opportunities within the diamond and broader minerals sector.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Leading Business Intelligence and Data Analytics Initiatives supporting the Government Diamond Valuation function.
- Developing and maintaining robust systems for the collection, validation, analysis and reporting of valuation and market data.
- Providing high-quality business intelligence to support diamond valuation, pricing, forecasting and revenue analysis
- Overseeing the integrity, reconciliation and analysis of valuation and sales data and ensuring the reliability of managerment reports
- Supporting the analysis of diamond prices, quality, size, colour, shape, frequency distributions and other market variables.
- Providing data-driven insights to strengthen audit support, valuation accuracy and commercial decision-making.
- Collaborating with senior CDV management and other stakeholders on market discourits, premiums, pricing trends and emerging market developments
- Supporting the valuation of diamonds from non-De Beers sources and contributing to the development of appropriate valuation methodologies.
- Leading research and analysis aimed at identifying new business opportunities and emerging trends within the diamond and minerals sector.
- Providing leadership, mentorship and technical guidance to the Business Intelligence team

- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Business Intelligence tools, such as Power Bl or equivalent.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
Applicants should possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in Data Management, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Economics/ Econometrics, Accounting, or a related discipline.
- A proven track record in data analytics, business intelligence and management reporting.
- At least 8 years relevant experience in data analysis and reporting.
- At least 5 years experience within the diamond industry and diamond valuation and/or audit support, preferably with exposure to data integrity, optimisation, pricing, production and related analytical processes
- Experience in research, statistical analysis and information reporting will be an added advantage
